Description
Vintage 1950's BALL CLOCK by HOWARD MILLER -black & gold! This is a cool-looking vintage ball clock from the 1950's designed by George Nelson and manufactured by the Howard Miller Clock Company. Howard Miller is the son of famous American furniture designer, Herman Miller, but the father and son's companies are separate from one another. The quintessential 50's design evokes memories of an era long past, but not forgotten. The clock is a vintage original from the 1950's (not a reproduction) and came directly from the wall of a house where it has been running since the 50's. It still runs fine and would look great in a period room, or accenting some eclectic modern furnishings. The black balls are painted wood, and the rest of the clock appears to be brass. The clock is in excellent condition but there are a few minor nicks in the paint on the hands (they appear to be made out of aluminum), and some scratches on the brass. The wooden balls have some wear on their back sides (see photos). It appears the clock's electrical cord has been shortened and instead of having the cord come through a hole on the side of the unit whereby it would hang to the ground and be plugged in an electrical outlet, the cord has instead been pulled through a hole in the center of the rear of the clock in order for it to be mounted directly on a wall over an electrical socket. This effectively hides the ugly cord so you only see the beautifully designed clock when it is mounted on the wall. Please email me if you have any questions.Domestic shipping is $18.00 via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, plus insurance of $2.40 for the first $100.00 and $1.10 for each additional $100.00 (Insurance for items under $50.00 is $1.70). Insurance is optional, but I will not be responsible for loss or damage to uninsured items. Because PayPal only protects transactions made between the US, Canada and the United Kingdom, these are the only three countries I will be able to accept PayPal payments from. In addition, PayPal customers from Canada and the UK must also be officially "Verified" and "Confirmed" according to PayPal's rules, and be willing to pay for on-line trackable Express Mail International shipping. An on-line trackable shipping method is required by PayPal rules for all shipments, and I must abide by their rules in order to be protected from chargebacks.Payment can also be made using a money order. EBay now prohibits me from offering you the option to pay using a Wstern Union electronic payment (or from even using the words "Wstern Union" when spelled correctly), a wire transfer with its associated bank fee, or US cash. International money orders will only be accepted if they are payable in US dollars and drawn on a US bank.
