Movado 8 Day Novelty Shelf or Desk Annular Globe Clock Extremely Rare High Grade Movado Factories Novelty Start Price USD 675.00 Current Price USD 675.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, August 28, 2008 End Time Sunday, September 07, 2008 Location Hampton Falls, New Hampshire See more about 'Movado 8 Day Novelty Shelf or Desk Annular Globe Clock' Description Rare High Grade Movado Annular Novelty Clock   Shown in the photos is an elegantly proportioned, extremely high grade Movado 8-Day annular style novelty shelf, cabinet or desk clock.  It’s signed on the gilt color globe support with the winder, and under this support:  “Movado 8 Days-Swiss” and “Movado Factories”.   It stands a little over 7 Inches Tall.  The globe is about 3 Inches across the diameter.   The 2-tone base is solid brass and quite heavy.  The clock weighs almost 1-1/2 pounds.   The time indications are set on Milk Glass Hemispheres making up a kind of annular globe.  Turing the top half with the Arabic minutes clockwise or counter clockwise moves the Roman numeral hour indicator into position relative to the black pointer hand which can be set to the minute at the right hour.   The top then turns clockwise and the minutes and hours are available for easy reading as they pass by the pointer.   The clock is like new-old stock and comes with the original Berkeley Designs box it came in.  I read somewhere that Movado worked with Berkeley Designs on some new design strategy but that’s too easy to follow up for me to have need to go into any further detail.   I saw the names linked somewhere.  It is keeping good time as I write.   I see this as an outstanding addition to any collection of miniature and/or novelty clocks, especially 8 Day.  It’s also a wonderful Movado accent.   Movado is known for building high jewel, finely adjusted movements to power high end novelties of this type.    I see this as a very rare Movado clock because I can find no reference to it anywhere.    Perhaps some Movado collector out there can help me out with a name for this model.   The clock is being sold as is which is as pictured and described:    In good running order and like new in the box.   If anything important has been overlooked, you have anything to add, or more photos are desired please do not hesitate to make contact.  If you like the starting price, get things rolling early, be one up on the under-bidder and add a little excitement to the auction.    Bids at the last possible second will also be gratefully accepted.   When bidding, allow for Priority Mail Postage, Double Box Packing and Handling.     I ship insured as a matter of course for all items with the exception of some foreign destinations where insurance is not available.    Insured Priority International will be about $40.00.  Allow $20.00 for US shipping, For International Shipping please contact me first.   Thanks for Looking !     Place a Bid!
