Description
Tall and Majestic Gustav becker tall case(grandfather) clock. Authentic with verifiable numbers and maker marks. It is 74 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 11 inches deep, one of the larger becker clocks! It is a sectional piece, the top and bottom sections come away from each other easily, it has been adjusted and keeps great time. There is flow glass covering the clock face and a beveled glass window to see the pendulum and weights through. The weights are stone sheathed in brass. The entire ( mechanical parts excluded) clock is made of a light colored oak. The clock mechanism itself slides forward and out on its wooden tracks for easy removal or repair. This clock is in near mint condition with not one thing wrong with it. Others similar have recently sold for eight to ten thousand dollars! It has 11/18 hand etched on the back near the makers mark, I believe from it being serviced in november of 1918. Becker 171659. P95 D.R.P serial 2161643, at least that is how I believe all the numbers and letters on the back of the movement are read. I have a good up close pic of that to view. It is nicely carved all around, understated, not like some of the more gaudy ones, with a bunch of grapes carved in the center/front of the bottom section.Take a close look, it is worth your time! Just added a couple new photos thanks to a friendly observer pointing out the need,Thank you.(from another helpful ebayer; the clock was made in the third quarter of 1910, Thanks John!)
