MARIE CASSAVETTI (BEAUX-ARTS 1896)   THE STATUE SIGNED IN THE BACK: MARIE CASSAVETTI   FRENCH ONYX MARBLE CLOCK CASE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.   ENAMELLED DIAL WITH HAND PAINTED FLOWERS IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. DIAL PROTECTED BY AN ORIGINAL GLASS DOOR.    ALL OF THE INNER WORKINGS ARE THERE, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL PENDULUM HOWEVER I HAVE NEVER HAD THE CLOCK WORKING. I AM GUESSING THAT WITH VERY LITTLE TINKERING (EVEN LUBRICATION) THAT IT WOULD WORK. I JUST HAVEN'T HAD THE TIME. THE PENDULUM DOES SWAY AND IT TICKS BACK AND FORTH. THE SOUND OF THE BELL IS VERY DAINTY AND DELIGHTFUL. THE CANDELABRAS ARE STUNNING! EACH HOLDS 6 CANDLES AND ARE VERY DETAILED AND ORNATE AS THE CLOCK IS. THERE IS A SLIGHT REPAIR TO ONE OF THE CORNERS OF ONE OF THE CANDELABRAS WHICH IS TASTEFULLY DONE AND NOT REALLY NOTICED. YOU CAN SEE IT IN ONE OF THE PICTURES. THIS SET WOULD LOOK GREAT ON A LARGE MANTLE OR LIBRARY TABLE, ON A BUFFET OR SIDEBOARD AS WELL. THE CLOCK COMES APART IN 2 PIECES. THE CUPID STATUE IS SCREWED TO THE TOP OF THE BASE. I THINK I PAID OVER $5000 FOR THIS SET IN THE 90'S. THIS SET IS TRULY STUNNING AND ORIGINAL!
